Westport offers beach and mountain treking for experienced riders as well as more leisurely treks on quiet country roads for the less experienced. The Clew Bay Hotel offer some all-in Equestrian Packages.

  Horse Riding Taster Session.
  Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go horse riding and learn a little more about them but lacked confidence or were a little nervous about going in a group?. This is an opportunity for you to try horse riding on your own or with a friend in an informal and friendly athmosphere with a qualified instructor. Includes 3/4 hours introduction to horse riding and ½ hour introduction to horse care.
  Cost (including transport) : €50 per person per hour or €80 for 2 people.
   
  Improve Your Riding. 
  If you would like to learn more about the essentials of horse riding and care then this could be the break for you. Includes 4 hours riding ie. 2 hours each day ( our 2 hour lessons include supervised instruction in grooming, horse handling and leading, tacking up / care of tack and riding ). This is ideal from the beginner to those just starting to canter. The first day is at the center and affords you an opportunity to bond with your horse. The second day is spent exploring some quiet countryside. All riding is under the guidance of a qualified instructor who will help you to improve your equine skills. The center offers a comfortable, safe and fun place to learn as it has all weather facilities along with a good selection of horses. If you like you can even try Western Riding. Minimum participant age is 12 years.
   Cost (including transport) : €120 per person, 2 – 6 people €110 per person, group (minimum 6 people) €100 per person. Family ie. 4 people €380.
   
  Horse Riding Challenge.
  If you like enjoy a challenge while horse riding then this could be the break for you. Includes 4 hours riding ie. 2 hours each day ( our 2 hour lessons include supervised instruction in grooming, horse handling and leading, tacking up / care of tack and riding ). Suitable for the advanced rider or those who are confident and in control while cantering. The first day you will have the opportunity to get to know your horse with some challenging riding under the experienced eye of a qualified instructor. You can improve your jumping over the showjumps in the indoor school or outdoor ménage and go for a gallop on the all weather track. Western Riding is also available to those who would like to experience it. The second day will be spent exploring the shallow waters of Clew Bay under the shadow of Croagh Patrick. Free your mind and spirit on quality horses, many of whom are home bred Irish Sport Horses, Connemara Ponies and Irish Cobs who really enjoy their work and in particular their trips to the sea. Minimum participant age is 12 years. 
  Cost (including transport) : €150 per person, 2 – 6 people €140 per person, group (minimum 6 people) €130 per person. Family ie. 4 people €500.
   
  Countryside Trekking.
  Exploring the quiet countryside on horseback is a great way to unwind.This is for riders who at a minimum are able to ride securely to a rising trot. (Note: in the interests of safety and enjoyment for all any rider who is not capable will not be allowed to participate. We therefore ask you to be honest about your riding ability). Our horses are hand picked for their temperament and suitability. You can enjoy a ½ days riding (2 hours) or a full days riding (4 hours). Minimum participant age is 12 years.
  Cost (including transport) : ½ day €70 per person, 2 – 6 people €65 per person, group (minimum 6 people) €60 per person. Family ie. 4 people €220.
  Cost (including transport): full day €120 per person, 2 – 6 people €110 per person, group (minimum 6 people) €100 per person. Family ie. 4 people €380.
    
  Beach Rides.
  Galloping along miles of golden sandy beach is often just a dream for most riders. Turn it into a reality! The Clew Bay area provides today’s experienced rider with ample open spaces for long canters and gallops through the surf. Paddle in the waves with your equine companion and breathe in the fresh sea air. Enjoy a ½ days riding (2 hours) on Bertra Strand or a full days riding (4 hours) on White Strand. These rides are for experienced riders who ride regularily ie. at least once a week and who can control a horse at all paces in open country. (Note: in the interests of safety and enjoyment for all any rider who is not capable will not be allowed to participate. We therefore ask you to be honest about your riding ability). There is no roadwork involved as the horses are transported to the beach. Quality horses chosen for their temperament and suitability and experienced staff ensure this is an experience you will wish to repeat time and time again. Minimum participant age is 12 years.
   Cost (including transport) : ½ day €90 per person, 2 – 6 people €85 per person, group (minimum 6 people) €80 per person. Family ie. 4 people €300. 
    Cost (including transport) : full day €150 per person, 2 – 6 people €140 per person, group (minimum 6 people) €130 per person. Family ie. 4 people €500.
