Mayo is home to some of the finest sea angling, coarse fishing and game fishing in Ireland. Boats can be chartered at Westport Quay for sea angling: every type of fish caught in Irish waters have been caught in Clew Bay. The River Moy in Ballina, is a world class salmon fishing destination, only 40 minutes north of Westport. For coarse fishing enthusiasts there are many lakes within driving distance.
