Scuba Diving

While staying at the Clew Bay Hotel why not take part in a Scuba Diving Programme wih Scuba Dive West:

Scuba Diving Programme is a half-day lesson offering people the opportunity to experience Scuba diving in the sea without committing to a full certification course. It runs for 3 hours and is available any day (April through to October) by prior booking at 10am or 2pm.

The programme begins with a brief classroom lesson, explaining basic diving principles & techniques and Scuba equipment operation. Step two is a skill practice session in shallow water. An instructor will teach basic diving skills including how to clear water from a mask, how to recover and clear a lost regulator, how to deal with running out of air, how to ascend from a dive and how to communicate using hand signals. Finally the participants move out into deeper water (usually 6m max.) where they are supervised on an open water dive.

The cost for the half day programme is €89. The cost for the full day programme is €140. Booking by 50% deposit.

Participants are required to sign a Liability Release Form and a Medical Statement. Note that if a participant answers YES to any of the questions on the Medical Statement they must have a doctor sign a Medical Examination form prior to participating in any activities involving Scuba Diving.
